Singer-songwriter/producer Heather Kropf has forged a reputation as a talented, dedicated songwriter and performer, producing albums with attention to detail that feature some of her city's (Pittsburgh PA) best players. Trained in classical piano she has quietly charmed audiences with her lush, literate blend of Americana and jazz-influenced pop songs that capture the complexity of modern life and romance. Her work has turned the heads of music critics and fellow songwriters alike. WYEP 91.3 FM Pittsburgh has celebrated her past releases Sky and What Else is Love among the top of what Pittsburgh music has to offer in their annual Year in Review publications.
On her most recent release, Chrysalis, Heather pushes into new spacious musical territory with multi-instrumentalist/co-producer, Jeff Berman (AppalAsia, Silk Sound). The two assembled a cast of versatile players to create a resonant chamber for her new material that has been called a "lush soundscape" by The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and "breathtakingly beautiful" by John Platt of WFUV 90.7 FM Bronx, and has received airplay nationally and internationally.
Her upcoming fifth release Lights is produced and mixed by multi-instrumentalist/producer Lex Price (k.d. lang, Mindy Smith, Robbie Hecht) and will be available in the spring of 2017.
